Dr. Harun-Ar- Rashid
Dr. Harun-Ar- Rashid completed his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in Agriculture from Bangladesh Agricultural University at Mymensingh. He studied Master of Science in Crop Physiology at Reading University in the United Kingdom. He completed his Ph.D. in Agriculture at American Independent University in California, USA. Dr. Rashid’s professional experience include research and development, technology transfer, seed system management, intensive cropping system management, introduction of high value cash crops, training management, nursery and orchard management, IGA programs management, waste water treatment, marketing of agri-inputs, farmer to farmer seed exchange system (FARMSEED), participatory integrated plant nutrient management (PIPNM), system of rice intensification (SRI), introduction of hybrid rice technology, agricultural marketing, disaster management, adoption of fertilizer deep placement technology, climate change impact adaptation, climate smart agriculture (CSA), cost and return analysis for crops and fishery, crop yield maximization, NGOs and CBOs networking, floating bed agriculture, zero tillage garlic production, intensive fish farming and fish fattening strategy, introduction of hybrid napus mustard, introduction of seedless and micro seeded watermelon, etc. Dr. Rashid has provided consultancy services to IFC, IFDC, IFPRI, CIMMYT, ACDI/VOCA, USAID, IFAD, DFID, World Bank, SDC, GTZ and numerous other renowned international donors funded projects. Dr. Rashid has worked with BADC, BRRI, PETRRA, CABI/WRC, IRRI/BMGF, JOBS and AAS on seed production, processing, preservation, packaging, certification, transportation, marketing and regulation and trades. Dr. Rashid has published more than 30 published papers reports on issues related to agricultural technology and extension.
