Christian Aid
Christian Aid first worked in Bangladesh in 1972 and today Christian Aid is present in the most vulnerable districts. Its activities are focused on disaster risk management, climate change, resilient livelihoods, emergency preparedness and response, inclusive market development, gender and social equity. Christian Aid works in the most vulnerable districts of Bangladesh across the southern coastal region, north-west, and central flood and 'haor' (wetland) areas. Christian Aid programmes promote access to just and equitable resources and supports the creation of resilient and thriving livelihoods for marginalised people and communities. It assists local and national institutions to become more accountable in decision making.
AMPS undertook a Market Assessment and Value Chain Analysis for household-based milk production and cow fattening situation in the char context of Bangladesh. A multi-dimensional methodology with use of both quantitative and qualitative data generation was applied. The study required participatory approaches from the char community. The study report included sections on description of the current market system, the constraints, SWOT analysis, value chain analysis, gender, nutrition and climate issues, strategy formulation, target beneficiary demarcation, activity suggestions, delivery mechanism, and impact logic diagram.
