Awaj Foundation was established in 2003 to work for the legal empowerment of RMG workers in Bangladesh. It is one of the most vocal and reputable non-governmental organisations in the sector. It has more than 40,100 members from 2,546 factories and a network of some 255,719 RMG workers. The organisation has good working relations with a number of factory owners, BGMEA and international buyers. Awaj Foundation projects are supported by ActionAid Bangladesh, GIZ , Kik (German textile discounter), Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF), Fair Wear Foundation and United Nations Trust etc. AMPS facilitated conduction of a-three-day National Training-of-the-Trainers (TOT) Workshop for the sectoral Trade Union (STU) Leaders on Financial Management, HR Management, Documentation and Fundraising.
