Professor Dr. Sirajul Hoque
Dr. Sirajul Hoque has an outstanding academic carrier. He completed his Bachelor and Master’s degree in Soil Science from Dhaka University, holding first class, first positions. He then obtained his Ph. D degree from Aberdeen University, in Scotland in the United Kingdom. He is the Professor at the Department of Soil, Water and Environment at the university he studied. In addition to his teaching carrier Dr. Hoque works as consultant for the government as well as the development agencies. Some of his prominent consultancies include; “Impact of Arsenic contaminated groundwater on agriculture and food-chain”. a joint research project of the Dept. Soil, Water and Environment, Dhaka University and the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation and National Baseline Study on Food Security (Soil Fertility Component), commissioned by the European Union and implemented by Soil Resource Development Institute, Ministry of Agriculture, Bangladesh. Dr. Hoque has one hundred and fifty-three (153) scientific publications to his name in national and international journals. Dr. Hoque is member of various professional organizations, namely; Bangladesh Association for the Advancement of Science (BAAS), Bangladesh Society of Microbiologists, Bangla Academy, Soil Science Society of Bangladesh and Asiatic Society of Bangladesh etc.
