Dr. Syamapada Biswas completed his MBA from the School of Economics, Berlin, Germany in 1980 with specialization in Quantitative Analysis. Later he also obtained an MS in Economics from Technical University, Berlin, Germany before completing his Ph. D. from Free University, Berlin, Germany in 1997. Dr. Biswas worked initially for Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) for a couple of years as Senior Economist before joining Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) in the School of Business and Social Sciences as Assistant Professor from 2001. He subsequently held the position of Associate Professor for 3 years since 2008 and is continuing as Professor since 2011. He has taught a wide variety of subjects during this time that include Micro, Macro and International Economics, Business Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Tools for Business Decisions, Corporate Finance, Banking and Insurance, Financial Markets, Portfolio Management, Capital Budgeting etc. He also has been the supervisor for Ph. D. thesis paper for Aligarh Muslim University, India. Dr. Biswas has carried out many case studies that have been published in numerous national and international journals. Besides, he also has written text books for undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
